Racing with Copepods
with Barbara McVeigh
Racing with Copepods has been described by Sailing Anarchy as "a natural and nautical adventure of self-discovery and scientific exploration that illuminates the fundamental link between people and planet.” Producer Barbara McVeigh created this film with twelve kids, her first film ever, five years ago as she came to understand ocean issues. Dr. Sylvia Earle agreed to an interview and that’s when Barbara went for broke (quite literally) to complete what has become a cult film in the youth sailing world. “That was the beginning, not the end,” Barbara says.
Barbara is now a proud couch surfing activist, educator, certified diver, cohost of People’s Environmental News and producer for the Jimmy Carter Jamboree national effort. Her new documentary The Man Behind The White Guitar has just been released - a call for integrity and generosity with the power of world music. Her memoir Redemption, How Ronald Reagan Nearly Ruined My Life is available on Amazon.com.
